The victim, who was so badly burned that the race, sex, or estimated age could not be determined, is confirmed to have died of a gunshot wound. The suspected killer then attempted to destroy the body by setting it on fire inside of the vehicle, Anne Arundel County police say.

Police found the victim around midnight Tuesday, Sept. 27, after responding to the area of Brock Bridge Road and Tribeca Trail for reports of a car fire that was found about 100 yards off of the roadway engulfed in flames in the middle of a field.

Once the flames were put out, police found the charred body in the backseat of the vehicle.

Homicide detectives are asking anyone with any information to call 410-222-4700.
